Maersk hits 4-year high as investors price in further earnings upside
BUZZ-Maersk hits 4-year high as investors price in further earnings upside ** Shares in Maersk MAERSKb.CO rise 6.7% to their highest in four years, extending strong gains after Thursday's stronger-than-expected quarterly results and guidance upgrade
** Jyske Bank analyst Haider Anjum says positive post-earnings sentiment and upward earnings revisions are driving the gains, while improving freight rates increase the likelihood of another guidance hike
** "We now see an increased likelihood of another guidance upgrade later this year ... This is a scenario that the market appears to be pricing into the stock," Anjum says
** Bernstein maintains its "underperform" rating but raises PT by 32% to DKK 14,100, highlighting Maersk's thesis that terminal bottlenecks could keep freight rates supported despite fleet growth
** DNB Carnegie analyst Jorgen Lian says investors are increasingly buying into this thesis, with terminal capacity acting as a structural choke point that causes recurring disruptions and pushes freight rates higher
** Friday's gains add DKK 18.1 billion ($2.8 billion) to Maersk's market cap and bring the stock's YTD rise to 38.7%
